A beautiful bride

A heartwrenching story lies behind this beautiful couple.

Katie Kirkpatrick, 21, held off cancer to celebrate the happiest day of her life. Katie had chased away cancer once, only to have it return - to clog her lungs and grab hold of her heart. Breathing was difficult now, she had to use oxygen. The pain in her back was so intense it broke through the morphine that was supposed to act as a shield. Her organs were shutting down but it would not stop her from marrying Nick Godwin, 23, who is in love with Katie since 11th grade.
Five days later, Katie passed.

Jabs

Yesterday, I finally buckled up my courage to go for my blood test. Well, I did it because I needed to take my hepatitis jabs before I jet off to Viet. So at 8pm last night, I squirmed, dodged and quivered down to Dr Chin's clinic for it, and it was indeed terrifying!! However, A kept telling me that I was just imaging things.

Thereafter, A & I went to a nearby coffeeshop to packet dinner before heading home. While I was waiting for my pork ribs rice, my head spun and so did the surroundings. I searched frantically for A and the sight of him gave me a form of relief. However, soon after, I blanked out and my face was a sheet of paper.

"Rub harder, rub more, be more daring, just RUB!!" Thats all I heard when I was regaining my sense of hearing, sight and smell. I vaguely saw a few uncles and A standing around me. A was vigously rubbing the medicated oil on my temples and my upper lips.

"The colours are back, the colours are back!" the uncle announced. I peeled my eyes open and the stinging sensation came on. I was feeling much better and the first words I spoke was "It was not in my mind, I am really weak."

For now, I am avoiding that coffeeshop for a week and remind A to put a bottle of medicated oil in his trusty backpack. How embarrassing!!

Precious One

Of late, I had so much health issues that I started noticing of my falling health and spirits. One so bad that I went into A&E. That experience was surely terrifying. Today, I received news that my sec sch junior's elder sis passed away due to brain hemorrhage. Kj's neighbour had a sudden heart attack after a night's out, he was only 27. Life's too short. I asked if I'd be depressed looking at my sad looking bank account more or at the state of my unhealthy workload.

How can precious thing like life be shorten in so many ways? Each day, I try to stand up and walk, I fall. I hope one day, one day, I can reach the end of life with a victory.

For now, I try to walk on, strongly.
Breathing is something in life that you never felt its presence till you have difficulties.
